 Applied Industrial Technologies to Acquire Suministros Industriales Enol, S.A. de C.V. (NASDAQ:STLD) today announced that OmniSource Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Steel Dynamics, and Recycle South, LLC have executed a definitive agreement whereby OmniSource will acquire the remaining equity interests in Recycle South, one of the largest regional scrap metal recycling companies in the nation. Recycle South was formed in August 2007 by the merger of Carolinas Recycling Group and Atlantic Scrap and Processing. The company is headquartered in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Masco Corporation Announces Sale of The Heating Group (14368) TAYLOR, Mich., Masco Corporation (MAS) announced today that it has sold its European based The Heating Group for a price of approximately $155 million to an affiliate of Vaessen Industries, headed by Jos Vaessen. The Heating Group, which has been included in discontinued operations in the first quarter of 2008, consists of Vasco, a leading manufacturer of designer radiators, and Brugman International and Superia Radiatoren, leading manufacturers of steel panel radiators. Combined 2007 net sales of The Heating Group were approximately $177 million.

 Steel Dynamics Reports Record Sales and Earnings for First Quarter 2008 (14327) FORT WAYNE, INDIANA, – Steel Dynamics, Inc. (NASDAQ-GS: STLD) announced first quarter 2008 net income of $143 million, or $0.72 per diluted share, reflecting the company’s recent two-for-one stock split ($1.44 per diluted share on a pre-split basis). Net income increased 40 percent and net sales more than doubled to $1.9 billion, compared to the first quarter of 2007. Comparing first quarter 2008 results to the fourth quarter of 2007, net income grew 46 percent and net sales increased 31 percent. First quarter 2008 results benefit from the company’s acquisitions of The Techs (July 2007) and OmniSource Corporation (October 2007). All per-share figures reflect the company’s two-for-one-stock split effective on March 19, 2008.
